Alabama implements health screening discount for state employees
Alabama employees will receive a $25 a month premium discount effective January 1, 2010, when they undergo a health screening to measure blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose and body mass index. The State Employees' Insurance Board has confirmed that employees can receive the discount beginning in 2011 not only by not having the risk factors associated with the four measurements, but also by going to their doctor, participating in a wellness program or reporting improvements in their risk factors.
